Joaquin

My name is Joaquin Amanse, but you can call me JP. I am a second year student at Thompson Rivers University, currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Communication and Digital Journalism program. I was born in 100 Mile House, British Columbia, and have lived in Kamloops for the majority of my life. My parents are from the Philippines and immigrated to Vancouver in the early 1990s.

For most of my life, I have been involved in a variety of team sports, from childhood through high school. The sports I played growing up included soccer, volleyball, and basketball. Being involved in sports has taught me the importance of hard work, discipline, and holding myself to a higher standard both on and off the field.

Upon completion of my degree, I plan to pursue a career in sports media journalism, with the possibility of exploring a secondary path in law enforcement. KamSports will help me gain valuable, hands on experience in conducting interviews, writing articles and stories, and recording different forms of media. This platform will allow me to continue developing my skills while staying connected to the world of sports.
