Hello, my name is J. Bryan Watkis. I am 21 years old and was born and raised in the beautiful country of Jamaica. At the age of 19, my parents and I made the decision to move to Canada to start a new chapter in our lives. Before coming here, I had always dreamed of becoming a professional football player.

At 17, I began to self evaluate and discovered that my true passion extended beyond playing the game. I found that I genuinely loved talking about football, analysing matches, and debating the sport in depth. Through this realization, I discovered that sports journalism was the perfect field for me, allowing me to stay closely connected to the game I love in a meaningful and impactful way.

Before joining Thompson Rivers University, I completed all standard levels of schooling in Jamaica and had not previously attended a university. As you explore this website, I am confident that you will find something valuable, engaging, and informative. You will also quickly realize that Kamloops is a city where sports truly matter.
